Energy monitoring and demand-response solution

Device Gateway provides customized solutions for energy monitoring and saving, including:
Granular and customizable energy metering
According to your needs, we can meter and monitor all components of your environment. In cooperation with our partners, our technology capacities include energy signature recognition, large scale monitoring (smart cities) and distributed energy meters. We can deploy energy signatures analyzers as well as wireless and PLC-enabled energy meters to simplify and save unnecessary deployment costs.
Demand-response solution
Device Gateway provides a fully customizable solution to dynamically adapt your consumption to external parameters such as energy market price and demand-response protocols. The solution contributes to save costs by reducing energy consumption when the energy price is high and compensating it when it is low. It also contributes to shave peak demands on the grid to support a more stable and lean consumption. The demand-response policy is fully customizable to take into account the importance and criticality of each component.
Data mining, reporting and recommendations for energy saving
Device Gateway provides energy consumption analytics, reporting and recommendations for you to optimize and save energy consumption. It takes into account the collected data and benchmark with other optimized buildings to identify and exploit sources of energy savings.
Uniqueness and benefits of UDG demand-response solution
UDG provides a solution to dynamically reduce local energy consumption when there is a peak in energy demand. It enables smart and targeted demand-response interactions to reduce the consumption in a given perimeter when the energy demand is high, with substantial cost saving either for the end-user benefiting from a dynamic pricing, or for the utility by reducing its consumption when the energy cost is high on the market. The designed technology enables a high level of flexibility and granularity in the configuration and adaptation of the consumption to peak demands. On the service side, UDG is fully compliant with demand-response open standards, such as OpenADR and can be extended to any standard. However, thanks to its proprietary technology, UDG does not require any bus deployment and can adapt the local energy consumption through a direct integration with the electricity demand in real time. On the southbound in charge of adapting the local consumption, the UDG platform is interoperable with over 40 communication protocols and standards, encompassing mainstream building automation ones (KNX, BACnet, DALI, Modbus, etc. ), sensor networks (6LoWPAN, EnOcean, ZigBee, Z-Wave, etc.), as well as emerging Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) standards (OMA LWM2M, CoAP, MQTT, etc. ). UDG architecture is EnergyWise compliant and enables end-users a complete control and monitoring of their environment, connected devices and demand-response processes. Its architecture enables to:
  • Target specific groups of equipment
  • Differentiate critical equipment and their level of dependability and criticality
  • Define granular adaptations according to the energy level
  • Take into account level of local energy self-production
  • Take into account contextual parameters, such as presence detection
  • Monitor the energy saved
  • Take into account the choices of the end-users, notably their comfort
Benefits
  • Energy saving during peak time, when the energy cost is the highest. Can save up to 100% of the energy in peak time, but more realistically about 30% saving without impacting the end-user comfort zone.
  • Light and flexible deployment resulting in reduced cost for installation
  • Overlay model resulting in the absence of dependency
  • Cloud-based control and monitoring
  • Real time information to the end-users
